Prince William and Kate's favourite cars

Prince William and Kate are already one of the most famous couples in the world and their profile will only get higher as the royal wedding approaches. Driving new cars will probably become a thing of the past once married life begins as this couple will spend most of their time in chauffeured cars, but looking back over their courtship Prince William and Kate have used a variety of cars but it does seem that the Audi range is a favourite.

A young Prince William was photographed in a first generation Ford Focus. This family hatch is a modern classic in the eyes of fans who appreciate its lithe handling and steering feel. You'll sometimes see the VW Golf referred to as the classless family hatchback. That's a compliment, they mean it's driven by people from all walks of life and you can't make too many judgements about anyone you see driving one as the future King has also spent many driving days in the Volkswagen Golf.

Back in 2007 Prince William was seen in his Audi S4 at a polo match in Cirencester Gloucestershire. These days the Audi S4 has a supercharged V6 engine but Prince William had Audis charismatic 4.2 litre V8.
The Audi A5 has been a success story for Audi and Prince William drives one. Kate has been seen driving an Audi A3 hatchback however on a number of occasions she has been photographed in a Land Rover Freelander with her dog in tow. The Range Rover is a definite favourite with the royals as the couple have been seen in one on a regular basis. The princess to be was seen stepping out of her Range Rover on arrival at St Andrews Church in Aldborough North Yorkshire it won’t be long before Kate’s own big day.
