Petrol Price War at Supermarkets
Morrison’s is the latest supermarket chain to enter the petrol price war promising shopper’s cheaper fuel. Morrison’s are offering 6p off each litre of petrol or diesel for anyone who spends more than £40.00 in its stores from Monday 18th April. Sainsbury’s and the Co-op have both announced similar deals.
The Co-op is offering 5p off every litre when customers spend £30.00 or more on groceries while Sainsbury’s deal of 5p off a litre has just ended
Morrison’s marketing director Richard Lancaster said “we know that over the Easter holidays and the royal wedding, motorists will want to travel further to visit friends and relatives, but will be put off by the cost of petrol, our offer ensures that our customers can enjoy this time and worry less about the cost."
www.Petrolprices.com says that on average, supermarkets have the cheapest petrol, but this is not the case in every location. It is important to do a comparison and then work out whether your fuel will still be cheaper with the discount

Smart Motorists Find Cheap Petrol Stations
Fancy finding some cheap petrol stations? Try www.PetrolPrices.com. This resource enables motorists to search their local area for the best value fuel. The results, which are frequently updated, are listed by price within a specified geographical area. This information can also be e-mailed to cost conscious drivers once per-week. The price for this service is precisely zero. By contrast, the average cost per-litre is higher than a busted space station.
Equally, motorists who shop at The Co-operative may save money by collecting fuel coupons. The offer is that those who spend £30 or more in store, before May 8, 2011, receive a 5 pence per-litre discount. However, this £30 spend must exclude items such as cigarettes, mobile phone top-up cards, and saving stamps. Not every Co-operative store is participating either, so best check online before getting too excited.
Morrisons shoppers can also save by collecting Morrisons Miles. Drivers store points on a card, then once they have earned 4,495 get a £5 shopping voucher to spend in-store. Is there no end to the generosity? This number of points equates to 333-litres of fuel, which – to put it in perspective - could fill a small family car about six times. Unlike the Co- operative's offer, this points package appears to be ongoing. Happy days?

Great Value Sat-Navs For Holidaymakers
Picking the best sat-nav is tricky. After all, what defines 'best' totally depends on your needs. A taxi driver, for example, may want something that sings and dances - whereas occasional motorists might prefer a basic, easy to use, system. Whatever your preference, there are a few things to consider when splashing your cash on a computerised map.
The first is to pick a suitable screen size. Options include small, fairly square systems of 3.5”. The £60 RAC 2000 springs to mind. These compact units suit those who frequently use 'pedestrian mode', as they are easier to carry than larger machines. Alternatively, motorists who leave their sat-nav bolted to the windscreen might prefer a wide-screen 4.3” display. These are easier to read while driving and show considerably more information.
The Garmin 1390T is such a machine. It also has UK, ROI, and European mapping so it makes a fantastic holiday companion. This £150 beauty also helps motorists avoid bank holiday-type jams, as it recognises delays in advance and suggests routes that avoid the trouble. Comparable alternatives include the TomTom XL Live Plus and Mio Navman 579. All these sat-navs are versatile, intuitive, and work beautifully both at home and abroad.
Another feature to watch out for is (motorway) lane guidance. This does what it says on the tin, and shows which of the sometimes numerous lanes points to the destination. Very handy too. Text to speak is also a great idea as this says road names. For example, 'turn left to London Road' rather than simply 'turn left'. Some sat-navs also have calculators, unit converters, and picture viewers for added fun and convenience. Choices choices.

Holidaymakers - Best Way to Travel to the Airport
British burglars are more likely to target properties with Ford Mondeo class company cars parked outside than those with more prestigious vehicles, according to The Sun. In a survey of twenty-four alleged criminals awaiting trial, the consensus was that targeting large houses with expensive machinery on the driveway is too risky as the properties probably have excellent security systems.
By contrast, the crafty crooks conclude that a modern company car parked outside a middle-class semi-detached suggests the owners have a reasonable income - but not the ultimate security. On this basis vehicles such as the Vauxhall Insignia, Citroen C5, and Toyota Avensis can draw unexpected attention to their driver's properties. Presumably, motorists with a couple of Ferraris parked outside their mansion can sleep soundly.

Holidaymakers - Best Way to Travel to the Airport
The best way to travel to the airport when flying abroad is.... to walk.
Walking eliminates the eye-watering parking charges that cost more than a Hollywood divorce settlement. For example, leaving your car near Heathrow Terminal 1 for two weeks in May can cost between £89.10 and £141.50. This cost, of course, is on top of fuel and wear and tear to your car.
On this basis hiring airport taxis may be preferable. These eliminate expensive parking charges, remove the need to drive, and leave a full tank of fuel in your car. Rates, based on a ninety mile journey from Dorset to Heathrow, typically cost between £95 and £130. This varies according to the type of taxi required, e.g. hatchback or MPV. These prices are for one way trips only, so the cost for this convenience is considerable.
So, sticking with our Dorset to Heathrow Terminal 1 example. On average a taxi, both ways, costs an approximate total of £225. Holidaymakers who drive themselves, average 33mpg and choose a mid-range parking option, pay roughly £150 overall. This is £75 cheaper than sliding your bulging suitcases into taxis. However, It may be worth the extra expense to know that your beloved vehicle is safely tucked-up at home.
Another option is to ask a friend for lifts, then pay their expenses. This equals £80 worth of fuel in our scenario. This is probably the best option. No driving. No parking fees. No expensive taxis. No worry that your beloved car is dumped behind an airport for two weeks. It is also the cheapest of our options, apart from actually walking.
Of course this all depends on what car you own and how concerned you are with vehicle safety at Heathrow or any other airport. For many families taking the family car really is the only option because travelling in a taxis, with child car seats, simply isn't possible.

Fantastic Holiday Accessories to Make Life Easier
Drop everything! Why not just pack a suitcase, grab a map, and go on holiday? The only other thing to do before leaving is to load the car with various accessories that should make the trip more comfortable than a week long massage. Oh, and I have also learned from bitter experience to double-check that your partner and kids are actually in the car before departure. Apparently, leaving them in the driveway is considered 'bad form'.
Anyway, I tend to travel light but some motorists pack enough luggage to sink a cargo ship. Clearly eighteen tons of suitcases cannot possibly fit in the boot, so how about installing a roof box? These come in various shapes and sizes from roughly 250 to 520- litres, and have a maximum payload of approximately 75kg. The downside is that this spacious facility increases both fuel consumption and interior noise. To be fair though, so does taking the kids. Prices start at £100 and rise to £700 for a top-of-the-range product.
Cycling is a fantastic holiday pass time so bolting a bicycle carrier to your family hold-all can be worthwhile. There are two types to consider, those that sit on the roof and those that hang from the boot like a peacock's tail. Prices start at £20 and rise to approximately £400 for an all-singing version. These hold up to five bikes but single carriers are available too. Some more expensive holders also fold flat, and have added security to prevent your peddle-powered playthings vanishing into obscurity like a failed X Factor contestant.
Further accessories that may come in handy include a satellite navigation system, an in- car phone charger, DVD player to keep the kids entertained, and flexible boot pockets that prevent small items rolling around. Lovers of refreshing drinks may also consider an electric coolbox that is powered from the vehicle's interior plug point. All ready then? Great, where shall we go?

The all new MG6 - The First New MG for 16 years!
The wait for the new MG6 has been longer than a record breaking tape measure. In fact, this small family car is the first all-new MG for sixteen years. This, as hard-core motoring fans know, is because this historic brand has a history of financial issues that - in the past - made it poorer than a third-year university student. These culminated in the launch of a new company in 2006. Until now, this has only produced reworked designs in low volumes.
The new MG6 is predominantly manufactured in China, but the final stages are completed at Birmingham's Longbridge plant. It was also designed in dear old Blighty. This Ford Focus rival is cooked-up from traditional MG ingredients - so it offers fashion loving consumers sporty handling, sleek styling, and a rock-bottom price tag. To be precise, this refreshingly distinctive plaything could be sitting on your driveway from £15,495.
Get a Free Car Valuation today - Find Out How Much you could get for your old car. Independent Free Car Valuations at www.motoring.co.uk
The new MG6 is only available with a 1.8-litre turbo-charged petrol engine, but a 2.0-litre diesel version will make its presence felt in 2012. The current model produces 158bhp, reaches 62mph in 8.4 seconds, has five-speed manual transmission, and is electronically limited to 120mph. It also averages 35mpg which is acceptable, but unexceptional. Carbon emissions are 184g/km, which places this all-new package in road tax band I/£200.

New Mercedes-Benz B180 BlueEFFICIENCY
Do you fancy owning a shiny, family focused, Mercedes-Benz?
If so, the new Mercedes-Benz B180 BlueEFFICIENCY SE could be right up your street.
This machine is spacious, practical, comfortable, great to drive, and sports a badge more fashionable than a super-model's birthday party. These characteristics make it one of the most desirable compact multi- purpose vehicles on the market, so let's hop aboard and explore this popular workhorse.
The new Mercedes-Benz B180 BlueEFFICIENCY SE seats four people in comfort and there is space for a fifth at a push. It has a 550-litre boot that, as well as having a double- layer floor, can be increased in size to 1,530-litres by folding the rear seats flat. That is pretty spacious. B-Class occupants also benefit from air-con, rain sensing wipers, and safety features that include adaptive brake lights and an electronic stability programme.
Power comes from a 1.7-litre 114bhp petrol engine that propels the five-speed manually geared B180 BlueEFFICIENCY SE to 62mph in 11.3 seconds.
Fuel consumption is reasonable too, as it averages 44.8mpg and returns up to 53.3mpg on the extra-urban cycle. This equates to emissions of 146g/km, which places it in tax band F/£125. While knocking-out its carbon the B-Class also cossets its passengers with a silky smooth ride.
So, there we go. The Mercedes-Benz B180 is a versatile machine that handles nicely, has a decent standard equipment specification, and proudly wears one of the most fashionable badges in town.
Unlike some prestigious cars it is also practical enough to use everyday and has appealingly sensible running costs. The price for this 1,310kg family favourite is modest too, as it starts at only £20,950. Not bad for a gleaming three-pointed star.

Bargain Cars for £1,500
What!? A good car for £1,500? Surely not? Maybe most of us should try and find a bargain banger to save on motoring costs...
Fancy a bargain banger for £1,500? If so, peek into the usual online car comparison web sites because this is the natural habitat of fantastic value vehicles. For example, the second generation Ford Mondeo, which was produced from 1996 - 2000, was one of the best vehicles in its class at launch and even today is a worthy workhorse. Therefore it has decent handling, a wide range of engines, three body styles, and high-spec versions have plenty of gadgets.
Alternatively, those who prefer more luxurious vehicles may fall for the charms of the Vauxhall Omega (1994 - 2003). This rear-wheel-drive saloon and estate range is available with various refined engines, including V6 configurations. These complement the Omega's smooth automatic and manual transmissions. Both body styles have plenty of cabin space, but the estate is more versatile as it has the storage capacity of a cargo ship. High-end models have plenty of toys too, and every version handles well and has a comfortable ride.
The final £1,500 bargain is – drum roll please – the Ford Puma (1997 - 2002). This pint- sized coupe is based on the Fiesta so it has confident handling, reassuring reliability, and low running costs. Importantly in this class it also has stylish good looks, attention grabbing acceleration in 1.7-litre guise, and creditable handling. So, despite its age and rock-bottom value, the Puma suits motorists who want something with x-factor.
New vehicles can be beyond the reach of cash conscious buyers, but there is no need to cruise around in a rusting heap. Clearly, £1,500 cannot buy the latest or greatest machinery, but those who choose carefully can still own a decent car. Happy shopping

80 MPG Seat Ibiza outstanding value & Eco-Friendly
The Seat Ibiza E Ecomotives are available in sporty SC, practical five door and ST estate bodystyles, these models are capable of 80mpg on the combined cycle which is why fleet and business managers may opt for one of these cars. The Seat Ibiza E Ecomotives are not only exempt from UK road tax (VED) but, as a result of changes announced at the start of this year, are also eligible for free entry to London’s revised Congestion Charge zone.
John Hogan of www.motoring.co.uk said: "What a great incentive to buy a seat Ibiza! Not only road tax exempt but free from the capital's congestion charges."
"Looking for better performing new cars, in terms of miles per gallon, is already becomming of paramount importance for many motorists as fuel prices continue to rise, dispite the government's futile 1 pence cut."
"The recent budget has pushed the Seat Ibiza E Ecomotive range into top pole position for fleet and business drivers trying to keep a lid on their company car tax and running costs."
Company car tax (BIK) is based on a percentage of the vehicles recommended retail price, the type of fuel it uses, the amount of Co2 emissions and the driver’s salary level.
The bottom BIK threshold will be 94g/km or below from April 2013. The latest generation Seat Ibiza E Ecomotives will qualify for the very lowest BIK rate of 13% as emissions are as little as 92g/km.
The Ibiza E Ecomotive models form part of a growing selection of Seat Ecomotive and E Ecomotive cars that also takes in versions of the Leon, Altea, Altea XL and Alhambra. Prices start at £13,490 RRP for the Ibiza SC S A/C E Ecomotive.
Hogan continued "If you are buying a new car this spring get an independent free car valuation at www.motoring.co.uk - this will help you get the best price for your old car. Valuations can be used to prove the value of your car when trading-in at dealerships."

Most Economical Cars Over a Long Distance Road Trip
Have you ever thought about what the most economical car is? I've considered some of the best cars for miles per gallon here. So read on to find out what I think are the best fuel efficient cars today.
Off on a road trip? Great, me too – so let's consider which cars are among the most economical over a long distance. New model fuel consumption is calculated by placing a test vehicle, which has covered 1,800 miles, onto a rolling road. Clever-clogs scientists then calculate its urban fuel consumption (town), extra-urban consumption (longer run), and finally its average combined fuel usage. This is achieved by completing a couple of simulated trips.
Urban fuel consumption is calculated over a short, 2.5 mile, run. During this process the test vehicle accelerates and decelerates on several occasions, cruises at a steady speed, and idols to simulate a short delay. During this test the vehicle averages 12mph and reaches a maximum speed of 31mph. By contrast, the extra-urban test covers 4.3 miles at an average 39mph, and hits 75mph. This run includes 50% steady cruising and a further series of throttle variations.
Get your free car valuation today at www.motoring.co.uk - make sure you get the best price for your old car.
On this basis, vehicles that are economical over a long distance must perform well during the extra-urban test. Guess what? The Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion 1.2 TDI immediately springs to mind. This robustly constructed supermini manages a staggering 91.1mpg on the extra- urban cycle. It also returns 67.3mpg in town, which means this popular run-around averages a mighty 80.7mpg overall. Driving the Polo BlueMotion may actually be cheaper than walking.
The latest BMW 3 Series is another economical masterpiece. In 320d EfficientDynamics guise, this executive mile-muncher returns 78.5mpg on the extra-urban cycle. This is remarkable for a large vehicle that charges to 62mph in only eight seconds. This fashionable fuel saver also manages 56.5mpg in town and averages a highly desirable 68.9mpg. The larger 5 Series can be surprisingly economical too, as the 520d returns 65.7mpg over a long, reasonably fast, run. Very impressive, at this rate cars will soon make it to the moon on a single tank of gas.
Whatever you want from your car you have to admit that more and more people will now be considering fuel efficiency when it comes to buying your next or new car. With fuel prices having increased by a staggering 40 per cent or so over the last 12 months many people are simply finding that they cannot afford to run a car. Unfortunately many, many people need a car to commute, I cannot think of one person I know who cannot not drive a car and who does not drive to work. Buying a new car with great fuel economy statistics and getting the best mileage out of every tank of fuel is getting more important every year.

Nissan Juke versus Volkswagen Golf
The Nissan Juke is not everybody’s cup of tea, whereas the VW Golf is as pleasant and unassuming as a car could possibly be. So whilst the Golf may be the obvious choice, the Juke possesses some hidden talents that might just tip the balance in its favour. We’re comparing the Juke 1.5 DCI Tekna 5 door with The Golf 1.6 TDI S 105ps 3door, priced at £17745 and £17790 respectively.
The VW has all the qualities you’d expect of the Golf, a kind o reassuring staidness, robust build and ease of use and the 105ps engine delivers a genuine, not a promised 60mpg plus if driven gently. The Nissan is positively packed with extra features that the Golf can’t compete with at this price point. Satellite navigation, cruise control, parking cameras and leather seat trim all come as extras on the Golf, and you’d have to pay a couple of thousand extra pounds to match up the specifications. Having said that the Juke struggles to get over 50mpg in real life conditions, a full 10 miles per gallon behind the Golf, and the rear is too cramped for adults. The VW is fine for 4/5 adults, but the middle seat in the rear is uncomfortable if you are a full size human.
Looks wise, the Juke is either an ugly bug, or a funky, fun hatch. How you view it will depend on your age, and it may well be that which divides the buyers of these two vehicles.
On the road, neither is a dynamic ride, with the Golf typically steady but uninspiring, with fun reserved for higher end cars like the GTi. The Juke fares a little better, having a little more spark but the engine noise penetrates the cabin more when driven hard. The Juke also has limited rear vision and a larger blind spot, so the reversing camera comes in really handy.
For more information or to compare specifications in more detail, use the tabs on the shortlist at www.motoring.co.uk . You can even add your own car and create your own comparison, and share your shortlisted cars on Facebook to get your friends opinion.

How to Find Car Dealers the Easy Way
www.motoring.co.uk 's revised website makes finding car dealers easier than paying through the nose for a new car. This easy to use facility can save consumers both time and effort, and make the initial stages of buying a vehicle far more convenient. This resource also enables motorists to view independent customer reviews that indicate the dealer's proficiency.
To access the comprehensive dealer database simply click 'research' on the main menu, then 'find car dealers'. The next stage is to enter your postcode and define, via a drop-down menu, the mileage range you would like to search, e.g. twenty. After pressing 'go' the database springs to life and displays a potentially invaluable list of both new and used dealers.
The results include the dealer's name, address, telephone number, a link to any customer comments, and an option to submit a review. Clicking 'view details' lists the trader's current stock that may – with a bit of luck - contain your perfect vehicle. There is even a Google map link to help locate the dealer should you want to visit the premises.
John Hogan of www.motoring.co.uk said: "Finding a reputable car dealer quickly can be very important, particularly for those who unexpectedly find themselves without transport after a breakdown, theft, or accident."
"The database at www.motoring.co.uk takes the stress out of searching for traders, as it reveals the customer rated professionals who are parked on your doorstep."
"We also advise customers to get an independent free car valuation so that they can get a realistic price for their old car."

Peugeots Fuel Efficient Range beats the Budget Blues
With fuel duty at the pumps cut, but an increase in tax on oil production alongside a new fair fuel stabiliser, increased rates of Vehicle Excise Duty and planned increases on company car tax a fuel efficient car proves to be the only answer to the budget blues.
John Hogan of www.motoring.co.uk said: “With Budget Blues hitting seemingly every part of our family finances this week, it seems the only way to balance the cost of motoring is to buy a new car that is fuel efficient.”
“Like many manufacturers Peugeot have a range of fuel efficient cars and the Peugeot 107 city car is capable of 62 mpg with the petrol engine and a staggering 74 mpg is claimed with the diesel engine.”
Hogan continued “If you’re thinking about buying a more fuel efficient car you should get an independent free car valuation for two reasons.”
“Firstly you find out, from a source that is independent and therefore not interested in the sale of your car or the purchase of a new one, what your car is worth.”
“Secondly you will be able to take your free car valuation and use it to your advantage when negotiating either a trade-in value or sale price with a dealership or private buyer.”
Due out this spring is the new Peugeot 308 micro-hybrid e-HDi Stop & Start system, combined with Peugeots 1.6 litre HDi FAP 112 diesel engine it reduces emissions to just 98g/km resulting in zero rated VED. If a bigger vehicle is needed the Peugeot 5008 Compact MPV seven seater combines fuel economy of 55mpg and 135g/km of Co2 from the 110 FAP EGC drivetrain in its Active model.
The Peugeot 107 emits just 103 g/km co2 and is capable of 62mpg. To escape Vehicle Excise Duty the popular Peugeot 207 Economique has Co2 emissions of just 99g/km while the 1.6 Hdi 90 FAP diesel engine returns 74mpg on the combined drive cycle.

How to Spot a clocked Vehicle
A clocked vehicle has had its recorded mileage deliberately rolled back to increase its value and desirability. This involves either fiddling with a mechanical odometer, or resetting a digital reading using technical wizardry and a laptop computer. Fortunately, motorists can follow a few simple steps to minimise the risk of buying a clocked motor.
The first is to study the MOT certificates, which record the mileages at the time of each test. Check for missing certificates, and for points when the mileage for one year is lower than the previous. It is also worth looking for changes of usage, e.g. if the vehicle travelled 25,000 miles per-year from 2004 - 2009, is it reasonable that it only covered 1,000 miles in 2010? The MOT history can be checked online if the certificates are missing.
Recorded MOT mileages should then be cross-referenced with the service history. The trick is to look for consistency. So, if an MOT certificate issued in August 2009 records a mileage of 50,000, then a service in September 2009 is likely to have been completed at 51,500 miles – not 62,000. Service histories are easily faked though, so it is worth contacting the garages who apparently completed the work to check the facts.
If you are thinking of selling your old car to buy a new car make sure you get an independent free car valuation so that you know exactly what your car is worth. This will not only allow you to negotiate when it comes to price but you will also have an expert and independent valuation to negotiate your price with.
It is also wise to test drive several examples of your preferred model to establish points of comparison. For example, if you are considering buying a Ford Mondeo 2.0-litre with a recorded mileage of 20,000 it should look, feel, and drive far better than one that has covered 120,000 miles. If it feels the same, be suspicious.
Further precautions include paying for an independent history check that – as well as indicating the mileage - can reveal whether the vehicle has been stolen, written-off, or has money owed on it. Some of these schemes also include insurance that compensates motorists if they later find a problem. It is often worth taking this step simply for peace of mind.
There is always an element of risk when buying a second-hand car, and it can be extremely difficult to categorically confirm the mileage. However, following these simple steps should increase your chances of making the right choice. Good luck.

Audi A1 Car of The Year or New Volkswagen Polo?
High quality materials have been used throughout.
John Hogan at www.motoring.co.uk said “For a small car the Audi A1 has is excellent value for money, all three engine are good and the quality is the usual Audi standards. “
The new Audi A1 also offers a choice of equipment packages, as well as numerous customisation options for both exterior and interior using an array of colours, materials and equipment options designed to make each car feel as unique and personal as possible. Upgrading to the Audi A1 Sport model includes sports seats, sports suspension, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation and Drivers Information System. The S Line version has extras including 17 inch alloy wheels, S Line sports suspension and leather and cloth combination upholstery.
John Hogan comments: “Then again there is the new Volkswagen Polo and how about this for a bargain?”
“Volkswagen has a huge amount of offers currently available on the Volkswagen Polo. The entry level Volkswagen Polo S 1.2 litre costs just £9495 and monthly payments are approximately £99.00 per month with Volkswagens popular Solutions PCP package.”
Volkswagen also offer one year’s free insurance for drivers over 21 years of age.
John Hogan continued “Spring is the best time of year to get a new car deal from dealerships, get an independent free car valuation and take it with you if you’re looking for a new car this spring.”
The new Volkswagen Polo is slightly wider and longer and these new dimensions provide greater passenger and luggage space, there is more leg, head and shoulder room and approximately 280 litres of luggage space which is increased to 952 litres with the rear seats folded.
The latest and fifth generation Volkswagen Polo was launched in October 2009. Shortly afterwards it was named European Car of the Year 2010, and in April, added the accolade of World Car of the Year 2010 to its name. Volkswagen UK sold 45,282 Volkswagen Polo’s last year, making 2010 the car’s best-selling year since 2003.
These latest offers apply to all Volkswagen Polo models purchased from stock through a Volkswagen UK Retailer and registered before 14 April.

New Car Insurance Laws
There will be some changes to car insurance this spring due to the fact that there are many uninsured drivers on the road. David Evans Corporate Affairs Director for the DVLA said that “uninsured drivers are a menace on the roads, increasing honest motorist’s premiums by around £30.00.
All motorists must have car insurance unless the DVLA has been notified their car is off road. Car insurance information will be distributed with V11 tax renewal forms to highlight that insurance must be in place. The DVLA website has been updated to provide the correct information to motorists.
Neil Drane, MIB's Head of Motor Insurance Database Services, said "the change in law is a stepping up of enforcement activity, so that not only those vehicles driven without insurance will be caught. Now the registered keeper must make sure that their vehicle is insured all the time."
He added that the DVLA and MID will be automatically checking to make sure levels of uninsured cars are brought down.

Prince William and Kate's favourite cars
Prince William and Kate are already one of the most famous couples in the world and their profile will only get higher as the royal wedding approaches. Driving new cars will probably become a thing of the past once married life begins as this couple will spend most of their time in chauffeured cars, but looking back over their courtship Prince William and Kate have used a variety of cars but it does seem that the Audi range is a favourite.
A young Prince William was photographed in a first generation Ford Focus. This family hatch is a modern classic in the eyes of fans who appreciate its lithe handling and steering feel. You'll sometimes see the VW Golf referred to as the classless family hatchback. That's a compliment, they mean it's driven by people from all walks of life and you can't make too many judgements about anyone you see driving one as the future King has also spent many driving days in the Volkswagen Golf.
Back in 2007 Prince William was seen in his Audi S4 at a polo match in Cirencester Gloucestershire. These days the Audi S4 has a supercharged V6 engine but Prince William had Audis charismatic 4.2 litre V8.
The Audi A5 has been a success story for Audi and Prince William drives one. Kate has been seen driving an Audi A3 hatchback however on a number of occasions she has been photographed in a Land Rover Freelander with her dog in tow. The Range Rover is a definite favourite with the royals as the couple have been seen in one on a regular basis. The princess to be was seen stepping out of her Range Rover on arrival at St Andrews Church in Aldborough North Yorkshire it won’t be long before Kate’s own big day.
